I SEE COLOURS

DECONSTRUCTING OUR PERCEPTION OF SKIN TONES

I See Colours” is a visual arts exhibition by Diane Din Ebongue that explores the intricate and diverse nature of skin tones.

Through a combination of photography, video, projection mapping, assemblage, generative AI and augmented reality, the exhibition offers a unique perspective on the connection between light, skin, perceptions and emotions.

The exhibition was first showcased at The Grand (Calgary) in November 2024, across the three floors of the iconic theatre.  The main floor was an artistic introduction to the translucent nature of the skin. The second floor navigated self-perception to question how we see ourselves and others. The third floor delved beyond the skin to explore the multifaceted nature of identity and the profound connections that weave together our individual selves.
